This past weekend at Jr. High Journey was a great look at Philippians 2 and how as followers of Jesus we are called to 1 HEARTBEAT in CHRIST, in LOVE, in COMFORT and in PURPOSE. The pics are from our afternoon scavenger hunt that took us all over the campus of Anderson University. Thanks to Kerri Phillips for letting all of us cram into her dorm room!

Fall Hayride 2010
CRYM had a blast last night at the annual fall hayride. After being dropped off in rural Indiana, eating cheesy potatoes & s’mores, lots of laughing and one flat tire later, I think it’s safe to say that all of us got to experience fall at its finest last night. Thanks to the Reitzel family for all of their hospitality. Enjoy the slideshow and pass the apple cider!
Fall Hayride
Don’t miss the Fall Hayride this weekend at The Reitzel Farm. We’ll meet up to leave the church at 4 PM and we’ll have everyone back to the front door of the church by 9:30 PM. We’re asking students to bring a bag of chips, cookies or a side. We’ll provide the burgers and dogs.
Be sure to dress accordingly. It could get a little chilly.
Mother/Daughter Date Night
Last Friday night, mothers and daughters (and some special guests) joined together for a group date. Anytime we can get mothers and daughters in the same room talking, laughing, and just having fun together is a good time! Last Friday was certainly no exception to that. Thanks to all who came and participated. Can’t wait to have another date!
COLTS vs. BENGALS

Our lucky winners at the Fall Kickoff enjoying life @ Lucas Oil…
What path are you on?
Yesterday we kicked off our series for the next month: ROAD SIGNS. Our “bottom line” was simply this: Your DIRECTION, not your INTENTION, determines your DESTINATION. We journeyed through Proverbs 7 and looked at a story of a young man what was clearly on a path where his intention didn’t trump his direction. The question for us to think about was this: What path are you on and where is it taking you?
Over the next 31 days, we’re journeying through the book of Proverbs together. And while we will dance around the Proverbs during the VINE, we are encouraging everyone to read through the Proverbs on their own over the next 31 days. The book of Proverbs is all about wisdom, and all of us need more of that. Last night we read through Proverbs 1 together in our LIFE GROUPS and CRUX, so today. . . we’re onto Proverbs 2!
Remember: if you are fumbling through the thee’s and thou’s, there’s nothing wrong with reading another version. Go to www.youversion.com and try another version (NLT, CEV, or NIV might be good places to start)!
What insight/wisdom have you gained so far? What have you learned from God’s Word?
My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:1-5)
FALL EXCITEMENT AT THE PARK
It was a blistering hot day in the city. Fortunately there were plenty of water balloons and ice cream to go around. Yesterday afternoon at Eagle Creek Park we officially kicked onto the new school year with games, food and a lot of fun. If you didn’t have the opportunity to join us you can download an electronic copy of the calendar and the fall program brochure for the scoop on all the dates and events coming your way this fall at Chapel Rock.
You can also check out some of the pictures from the fall kickoff here.
CELEBRATE!
We’ve had quite a summer. This Sunday, we are setting aside some time to celebrate all that’s happened this summer… the growth, the steps forward, and some commitments made. Please be here to join us this Sunday morning in the Chapel at 9:15 to hear about some of the growth our students experienced this summer. See you Sunday!
CRUX Water Fight
On our way home!
We stopped by the showers on our way out of town because we smelled fuuuuuunky. Now that we’re all fresh and clean it’s time to hit the road. Indiana here we come!
